  • How to find the names and ID's of DOM Elements to automate
  • Creating an XML file from scratch using Notepad++

thanks for the video! very helpful! i was wondering...i need to automate a video upload to a site my work licenses, but the video uploading takes place in a flash object that is embedded in the page. can PAMIE deal with embedded objects? is there any way to do this?

i am having trouble with ie.getConfig("\\tutorial Files\\testdata\\)

when i press run it show sme the following error msg:

File "D:\scornik\workspace\PythonTestScript2\src\test\testScript2.py", line 70, in runTests

testpath = ie.getConfig("\\testdata\\")

AttributeError: PAMIE instance has no attribute 'getConfig'

nice setup. two comments on the tutorial A/V and one on the technique:

the text is easier to read when it's not selected. I think highlighting is a good idea to show to which text you're referring, but I suggest trying to modify the color scheme. Bold text on a lighter background would stand out more clearly in my opinion.

The loud bangs with keystrokes are very distracting.

I think it would be useful to include multiple runs in a single xml source file.

it is very useful, but my question is the same Andy Gladdis ,the first commentor.

having problems with the getConfig method. It does not appear to be in PAMIE. Is this a method you've created for the purpose?

These tutorials are really good and easy to follow. However, I'm following your second tutorial, trying to read in from xml files, but I'm having problems with the getConfig method. It does not appear to be in PAMIE. Is this a method you've created for the purpose?

My only other critisism of the tutorials is the it's sometimes difficult to read the actual code. Some sort of transcript of it would be really useful.

But generally, brilliant!

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Screencasting is easier than you think, and we're happy to help you. You can emailus for advice or just use some of the how-to screencasts on the site. This screencasting learning-pathis a good place to start.

Kudos and Thanks for Robert
