Thanks - trying to learn from the master here. I'm curious about something... How detailed was your notes / script for this? You sound very natural, like you are just talking to some friends. I just can't seem to sound so natural and also run the computer smoothly if I'm reading from a script at the same time. Do you have a script, but allow yourself to add stuff as you feel like it?

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Developing Python Programs Using the IPython Shell

This is how I like it. Infact, this is how most of us like it. Short and to the point. In UNIX programs are usually small and compact and do one thing very well. And so likewise, its good to teach one important concept at a time and then give freedom to the viewer to combine concepts he learns from many different videos. Easily graspable. : )

Well done. Question: Are or have you been a teacher?

Also, following a standard "bar" cursor can be difficult. I have found the yellow highlighted cursor to be a little easier to follow.
