in series: Introduction to Boa Constructor

video tutorial by cmpython, added 02/09

(Showmedo is undergoing major changes. To report any problems viewing the videos please email us and include browser and OS specifics. Cheers - Kyran.)

Here I give a quick tour of Boa Constructor's features and then show you how to create a "Hello, World!" application without writing any Python code yourself--Boa will write it for you.

The second video is as good as the first. Clearly presented.

Good vid.

I did not know much about python gui development environments but this is inspiring me to learn more.

To bad I did not know about this a few years ago...

Excellent! Very good. Thanks!

verry good !!!!

Thanks for the videos. I just completed the second one "Feature tour of Boa Constructor", and am very glad for these. It's so much clearer to see it in video than just reading about it in the documentation. This is my first time using Boa Constructor, and I'm glad to be able to do "Hello World" in the first 20 minutes or so.

Until I watched this video, I always found Boa Constructor really complicated. You managed to make it look real simple.

Very very good!

Very useful!

Very, very helpful for noobie like me.

Thank You very much!

Thanks - very helpful

Excellent, particularly for beginners like me that are not ready to write the whole code by their own. Start thinking about Boa (or similar...).

Evaristo

Jim, it should be working now. Thanks for catching that.

Great... but the second tutorial doesn't appear to be working, whatever browser or OS I use to view it.

75. Jim Baremore Tue, 16 Feb 2010 09:25

This is just great. I do not have any CS training and self taught myself Visual Basic. Now that I want to move on to Python, it is very confusing and your video's are helping me to get up and going and when I do that, then I better understand what I am reading.

THANKS

marvelous

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Screencasting is easier than you think, and we're happy to help you. You can emailus for advice or just use some of the how-to screencasts on the site. This screencasting learning-pathis a good place to start.

Kudos and Thanks for cmpython
