[1589] Assembly Language Tutorial: Episode 4: A Simple Structure (6/7)

in series: Assembly Language Tutorial

video tutorial by Neil Dickson

(Showmedo is undergoing major changes. To report any problems viewing the videos please email us and include browser and OS specifics. Cheers - Kyran.)

This video explains a simple structure, namely a colour, and shows a simple way to implement a Gaussian blur to clean up noise in the image using the structure's definition.

It uses the new Inventor IDE Alpha 5b, which no longer requires MASM to assemble, and should be much easier to use.

I am intereserad in learning assembly with focus on a few specific applications that I need to create. Any suggestions on any online help/email support on ideas ands assistance in creating the apps from scratch.

well done .I think that work done by Neil Dickson inn Assembly Language is admireable.thanx Mr Neil Dickson. Thanks for the instructive video tutorial. It's the first I have watched but appreciated the way you went slowly through each step. I will wtch more.

Is there any way I could download the files so I can follow along with the video and look over them afterwards

Hi! Good to hear that you guys getting some use out of the videos. :)

The first language I learned to program in was actually QBASIC, the last version of which was released shortly before I was born, lol. I tried writing games for quite a while, but I never had the patience to actually get one fully working, unfortunately.

Hi Neil, I write fairly simple 2D games in BASIC and assembly language. I found your video informative (and so has at least one other user of the particular dialect of BASIC that we use).

Good work. :)

David.

Thanks!

Thanks! Sorry it's taken so long to get going on it again! I'm so glad I have time to make these again, and a few co-workers are insisting that I create the optimization tutorial I've wanted to make for a while, after we got an unexpectedly huge speedup on our quantum simulation system at http://aqua.dwavesys.com/ (like 10x-20x)

I keep enjoying this series. Thanks.

Kudos and Thanks for Neil
