In this screencast I cover NewForms Personalization. Often you have a drop down or some other field in your NewForm that you need to have personalized, or changed based on the logged in user or other instance criteria. This screencast will show you how to accomplish that in your applications.

Source code and show notes for the screencast is provided at my blog

I like the video for a beginner, it has quite a good quality, only it's useless for me, I have all ready gone through this.

I'm looking for some more advanced features like for example displaying images in the admin application based on the content of certain variables. Or creating a drop down list on admin depending on the dynamic values of some created classes.

Anyway keep up the good work, I'm the manager of an OpenSource project and we're looking for community efforts, I'm sure some guys will love your videos, I will link it right a way.

Cheers

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Screencasting is easier than you think, and we're happy to help you. You can emailus for advice or just use some of the how-to screencasts on the site. This screencasting learning-pathis a good place to start.
