C tutorial - Features & CPU architecture - [ID:492] (4/8)

in series: C programming tutorial.

video tutorial by gasto, added 01/08

Series ID: 138 Video ID: 492

We start by introducing the C features, which are the 'selling' bullet points of why C is a reliable programming language. C features are:

· Portability

· Design

· Efficiency

· Power

· Programmer-Oriented

Being able to write more code means going deeper into the specifics of the computer's hardware, which is a great advantage for creating efficient programs, also creating C standard code ensures that the same program even if compiled in Windows (for instance), it will run in Mac OS, OS X , Windows X, BSD OS, Ubuntu(and other Linux distributions), etc.

We also ensure that our basic knowledge of how the processor works, is in our repertoire of technical definitions, since going down-top might help by mnemonic how C programs are 'under-the-hood'. We will come back later in this series, for referencing specific processor steps into specific C syntax.

Visit the C Console Programming video series for updates on C programming from me.

Like to learn C and it appears this tutorial is what I need.

MingWin (for Windows) solves the issue of playing with a compilier, and using GCC, without worring about the myriad of dependencies

I never about Von Neumann architecture !!!

great series and great video

thanks a lot Gasto !

you rock !!

Sorry mantosh4u , GCC is a pretty tedious builder to work with. If what you want is to develop applications without pain, I strongly recommed to strive away from it.

this series is gr8 for beginner...thanks for that.but if u can start a series like

"how to write C program(on terminal) and debug it in debugger like gcc" , i will be

very thankful to you...working with IDEs is not that much tough..thanks for everything.

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Screencasting is easier than you think, and we're happy to help you. You can emailus for advice or just use some of the how-to screencasts on the site. This screencasting learning-pathis a good place to start.

Kudos and Thanks for gasto
