One of the best instructional videos I've seen - clear, concise & delivered at just the right speed.

Just the thing to take away the fear of using new software.

That was a rather helpful and informative video. Having downloaded 7-zip previously, with very little instruction on it's use, I can now use it to the maximum potential.Thank you.

Thank you for putting your videos on the internet.

These are very helpful as there is little practical help in using computers, software and peripherals.

Do you have information about using 7zip for sending a video by email?

Great Video but I have an important question. I l downloaded and installed 7 zip version 4.65 from a site called Source Forge after going to the 7 zip web site (I thought). The installation took less than a blip all I saw was a black window like the old c prompt window - it was gone in an instant and then I went to the folder and ran 7 zip .exe file that was there I didn't see a manager window at all like in your video ever got a window with the one in your video. IF the file I had on my desktop got extracted I have no idea where these files went (there would have been four of them). Am hoping I didn't get some nasty attack or virus of some sort, any ideas? If none thanks for the video it was very helpful and I hope my uninstall did what it should have I also restored to a point two days ago. Thanks Bob

The video in how to extract files in 7-Zip was most helpful.

R. Leech

As a novice who is very interested in using torrents to create I have never found a more helpful instructional series for using free tools. I am just learning how to use the cool 7 zip and find that it's options are every bit as good as the tools that cost you money.

Also, most important is how to use these tools and your videos which I can stop and review are really good and informative.

I like that you are not using Camtasia or some of the real draining video software.

Very greatful for learning 'by the numbers' and I recommend your videos to anyone who wishes to understand how to make and compress all sorts of files.

Great job,

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Screencasting is easier than you think, and we're happy to help you. You can emailus for advice or just use some of the how-to screencasts on the site. This screencasting learning-pathis a good place to start.

Kudos and Thanks for Dai
