Very insightful talk, would be nice to see this more active in the US. So far there are not enough linux phones compared to Asia. Away from that, would be awesome. I got a Nokia800 and is an awesome feeling since well most of my calls are Voip based.

Review of An Overview of the First OpenMoko Phone

Setting up the development environment is really buggy. Can we have some simple go tutorial? The Makefile is also very buggy because I never get to make any targets successfully.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your synopsis and insights into the I project.

I am a native english speaker based in China.

What do you know about multilingual input would it be possible for me to write Chinese, Korean and Japanese and what about Java on the phone.

Thanks again

Thanks for a great recap. I'm already part of the quire, I hope you will have more of these - an example of booting the qemu, of course a video of the phone itself (I'm still waiting for mine), and in the future I expect some nifty applications!

cheers!

Alon

Hi Jeff, great technical video. I wasn't aware of the OpenMoko phone though I've long-wondered why there wasn't a good open-spec phone.

I wonder if anyone is interested in a video about the technical details of working with the phone?

Ian.

Kudos and Thanks for Jeff
