In this second ShowMeDo Steven shows how to download the Knoppix live CD (he also explains what a live CD is ;-). Then he'll show you how to configure the VMWare Player so that you can boot Linux inside Windows! (yes, you're reading that right).
Over in the wiki you'll find the knoppix.vmx configuration file.

not bad
Your session was very informative.
Thank you for a very informative start
Great job Steven. You have introduced the VMware topic very well in a very short period of time.
Thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial. Although I knew the principles of virtual machine technology, I had no idea how simple it is to set up. Now with confidence it is 'onward and upward'.

Parallel Knoppix??Help! Gracias!
Great.......
good video.
I liked your video description of "how to" about Knoppix Live CD.
I was wondering how Knoppix Live CD would run without being installed in hard drive? Your description about VMware Player resolved my confusion.
Thank you

thanks steven, great job. your proposal of us suggesting new topics:
why couldn`t you explain base (open office) fr translators.
a base with several translators, their language pair/s, their adresses, communication data, their subject qualifications, their rates, notes and
ranking of quality in base.
that would be appreciated, a great help.
Thank you! Video is very interesting, but I have one question: where can I get a vmx-file? Can you give me a link to it?
Easy to follow, clear recording, nice work.
I understand that using linux live CD you can’t install application on linux. Can you please include on how to run install cd on vm..
This is awesome! Thanks for providing us this info. Hope you will continue to make some videos like this. Great help.
So, if I install a software on the linux, and then switch off, my changes are gone, as i understand.
I want to know if I can use VMWare for testing out a software. Say, here is a software that I dont want to install on my PC. But I want to test it. I want to use VMWare to install that in a virtual PC. Can I do that. If so, is it possible to "copy" that VMWare installation, so that if I want to do the same thing on another PC, I dont have to install the software itself...I just copy the VMWare image
Your video is a really big help. It showed me exactly what I was planning to do with my machine. By the way can you also make a tutorial about running Windows in VMWare Player on top of Knoppix? Thanks!
hey steven,
Thanks for you tutorial and for your time to explain this case.
