In this second ShowMeDo Steven shows how to download the Knoppix live CD (he also explains what a live CD is ;-). Then he'll show you how to configure the VMWare Player so that you can boot Linux inside Windows! (yes, you're reading that right).

Over in the wiki you'll find the knoppix.vmx configuration file.

a base with several translators, their language pair/s, their adresses, communication data, their subject qualifications, their rates, notes and

So, if I install a software on the linux, and then switch off, my changes are gone, as i understand.

I want to know if I can use VMWare for testing out a software. Say, here is a software that I dont want to install on my PC. But I want to test it. I want to use VMWare to install that in a virtual PC. Can I do that. If so, is it possible to "copy" that VMWare installation, so that if I want to do the same thing on another PC, I dont have to install the software itself...I just copy the VMWare image

Hi Steven,

thank you for your time. Since I need to learn some Perl I'll be following your next tutorials. There are few things, however, I'd wish to comment on.

You've managed to teach a little unix here and there without telling so (so that one might think that chmod +x is perl), a little of vi and why you like it (i like it too), and so on, but very little perl. The way I see it, the only thing one learns here is that "perl is an interpreted programming language". The rest is redundant for those who know, and far too ambiguous for a computer newbie to understand.

I watched the video about the installation tutorial for Vmware which was actually not the goal of my googlesearch.
