Thanks for this tutorial. I did not realize one could use wget like that. I found that quite helpful as I use putty from my windows laptop to program on my Ubuntu desktop over a wireless network. The standard vim colour scheme is too colourfull for me and i did not know how to change it. This tutorial was perfect!

cool. I settled on desert, after a lot of fun trying out various schemes. One of the true joys of Vim lies in personalizing ones setup.

I installed my NERD_tree plugin exactly as prescribed but I get "Ambiguous use of user-defined command" when I try to run it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks! I was actually trying to figure out how to install the snippetsemu plugin. However, I don't think you explained how to install vimball, which you have to do before you can install .vba plugins.
