Our authors tell us that feedback from you is a big motivator. Please take a few moments to let them know what you think of their work.
This is an intro tutorial on getting around in vim. It contains information on moving around, editing, copy + paste, and saving. It should be what's necessary to get you up and functional in Vim. I'll have a higher quality version of this video on my blog (http://justinlilly.com)

The tip about Sokoban was great. Thanks for useful videos.
Thanks, I am always learning something new about vim... it would be cool if you guys had a video on how to best setup a python.vim script to support python code (maybe you have one already -- I haven't looked thoroughly yet)... did not know about set number
Thanks for the helpfull screencast. One question that I'm sure others have asked is why would I want to use vim over an EID. I realize it's been around for along time and it was very useful in the past when you wrote programs from the console, but does it still have some useful features over todays replacements? It seems a lot of effort just to move about and such. Thanks for the info
I had this guy at work, he uses vim 24/7. Honestly, he can do anything that I do using any IDE using vim. So, I was like, what the hell, lets learn it a bit. I liked your video .. I just have to say that :)
Awesome job, Justin! I'm glad someone got around to doing this, because I haven't been able because of work and family right now. I still plan to do a VIM tutorial, but I like your quick intro!
solarwolf (pygame) is a nice game to play and learn to use h,j,k,l keys too. But at first, it will be hard because it's a "fast" game not ike nethack or <forgotten />
great video. i use every day vim but it's always nice to watch to see if i miss some cool tricks in my "arsenal" ;-)
Review of Vim Intro
Nice tutorials Justin. I'm a regular vim user and enjoyed the review as well as a couple pointers you use I didn't know yet. Keep up the religion!
btw Justin, you're a trusted author now so can publish your own videos, after making sure we encoded them correctly.
Loved it - just by knowing these few things one is up and running and productive in VIM - then one can spend the next 20 years or so learning all the cool tricks. Fine, well-paced, effective. Couldn't ask for more.
The ShowMeDo Robot says - this video is now published, thanks for adding to ShowMeDo.
