This 2-part PAMIE tutorial show you how to write scripts faster using the writeScript method. The User can see how to enter the expected input so later in Part 2 (forthcoming) we can verify the expected output.

There are also some tips on using methods as test-cases. This is good when you want to build up test suites.

I am a new user of Pamie as well as a new user of Python. I just want to thank you for the program and the instructional video. I didn't find any help manual or orther written documentation. Does this exist?

P.S. For your info, I intend to use Pamie to get financial data from financial websites (yahoo, msn, etc.) and save it to text files so that I can import it into Excel. Excel has a built-in capability, but the tool seems to get lost pretty quickly on complicated web pages. Also Excel's VBA interface does not fully control the tool.

I'm attempting to use PAMIE with Python to build some QA software.

Specifically the "scriptWrite" or "writeScript" function. When I run

either "term" I get an "AttributeError" message. I'm running an old

2.4 version of Python and PAMIE 2.0 and it list the function as "scriptWrite" On a

Python / PAMIE tutorial page it shows as "writeScript"

What am I doing wrong?

It's great.. running into getConfig() as I can't seem to find it on the latest PAMIE release - anyone have a copy?

I like PAMIE. It simple and great for my testing

Hi, Great movie! But there is some problem. Some methods mention in the movie is replaced with some other. I did not find out the getConfig() instance. Please let me know if anybody has information regarding this - Dhirendra

Looks like writeScript() has been replaced by scriptGet().

Great movie! Thanks for that!

If you send me an email or go to my Pamie's User's group on Yahoo for the latest update and try that -

I usually post there before sourceforge.

There should not be a problem with it.

If you send an email makes sure it had a valid return address.

I have the newest version of pamie but writeScript doesn't seem to work for me.

AttributeError: PAMIE instance has no attribute 'writeScript'

Fantastic! As a past user of samie, I've watched the progress of pamie and watir and a few others over the past few years. I think putting this video series up is a great way to let QA engineers learn about PAMIE.

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Screencasting is easier than you think, and we're happy to help you. You can emailus for advice or just use some of the how-to screencasts on the site. This screencasting learning-pathis a good place to start.

Kudos and Thanks for Robert
