nice, gentle progress. And the free Visual C++ Express is a very good deal ;) I'm a cross-platform junkie, as a point of principle, so compiling options are slightly more limited. But I've found the Python-based Scons to be a great, user-friendly alternative to the old workhorse Make.
Anyway, nice spoonfeeding.
