[1044] 7 - The Editor in Boa Constructor, Part II (7/9)

in series: Introduction to Boa Constructor

video tutorial by cmpython

(Showmedo is undergoing major changes. To report any problems viewing the videos please email us and include browser and OS specifics. Cheers - Kyran.)

In this second of two videos on The Editor in Boa Constructor, I show more features, including some interesting ones, such as Find/Replace, the TODO list, the explore feature, the profiler, Add Module Info, and other features.

Some other features of the Editor are also given in the final video in this series, on 12 tips for using Boa Constructor.

Note: About 7:48 into this video I accidentally remove a line, #Boa:Frame:Frame1, while removing the module info. I believe this is actually necessary to allow Boa to run the code in the Designer, so do leave that line in your own Boa-generated code.

It looks like it is not complete, but very good

Great series. I just picked-up Boa Constructor today to aid in wxPython development, and your series was a great supplement to the Boa help files. Great way to get up and running fast -- I'd almost prefer to have watched your series before working through the help files. I am going to look at the Boa site at SourceForge and see if I can add some reference to your video series there.

Bravo!

Corey

Thanks. Having seen how to drop in the Module Info, my next question was how to modify the defaults.

Boa was actually pretty intimidating until I viewed your excellent tutorials. Now I can make use of this decent IDE. Thanks very much.

Having watched some more, I have to repeat myself - they are very well done.

I would like to mention that the ToDo items can also be marked with:

# TODO: your text here plus the !!!!

It is a bit more obvious then # XXX

Just as an FYI, there is also an application wide Todo view which is accessible when editing the wx.App module.
