Video Tutorials

1. modeling with wings3d (German / English subtitles)

In this intro video for the 5-part series, Leo shows a 3d-object with in wings3d and will transform it into a witch's cottage.

2. create a 3d-object with wings3d (German / English subtitles)

using wings3d, Leo create an cube and transform the cube into a house.

3. texturing a 3d-object with wings3d (German / English subtitles)

using wings3d, leo shows how to extract an (empty) texture from an 3d-object and how to export this texture into a file (to be later manipulated using GIMP).

4. texture export/import with wings3d, texture manipulation with GIMP (German / English subtitles)

using wings3d and Gimp, Leo export the empty texture of the 3d-object into Gimp. There it will be painted and re-imported into wings3d.

5. exporting a textured 3d-object from wings3d into the Qcake 3d catalog (German / English subtitles)

using wings3d and QCake, Leo export the 3d-object and it's painted texture into Qcake's 3d-catalog. 2 seperate files will be exported, one 3ds-file and one texture bitmap.

Educating the Open-source Community With Showmedo

Although as important as the software it supports, education and documentation are relatively neglected in the Open-source world. Coders love to code, and explaining how best to use or improve the software tends to be deferred or even sidelined.

At Showmedo we believe the community can play a vital role here and also say thanks for the tools and software that make our lives easier. If you have a piece of software you love or a programming langugage you are enthusiastic about, why not make a screencast showing others how to use it? All the stuff you wish you'd been told, the tips, tricks, insights that would have saved you time and frustration.

Screencasting is easier than you think, and we're happy to help you. You can emailus for advice or just use some of the how-to screencasts on the site. This screencasting learning-pathis a good place to start.

Kudos and Thanks for Horst
