[146] Live CSS Editing and Debugging with Firebug (1/1)
in series: none
video tutorial by Jesse Newland
Our authors tell us that feedback from you is a big motivator. Please take a few moments to let them know what you think of their work.
Jesse introduces Firebug 1.0, the live CSS editor which runs inside Firefox. See how you can easily identify elements by rolling the mouse over them, select them, see the html and see which rules apply to the segment (or those that have been over-ridden). You can also edit the html and css in-place and monitor and debug AJAX calls - this is an awesome tool, all web developers need to know about it.

Great video piece. I've been using firebug for a while now but this view has just made me aware as to how I'm under-utilising this great tool.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Can you recommend any book that delves more into how firebug works?
Thanks

This is great, just started working on a web page and I am not a pro! I am a member of ShowMeDo. Just testing out links from Wikiversity, also just downloaded Firebug a few days ago. I will be watching more tutorials in the near future.

Thanksfor sharing! Like may programmers I have to learn things like Firebug and ExtJS on my own.
Thanks. I wanted to know what was all the buzz about Firebug. Now I know. Cool.
Nice job! Helped me a lot.
Great taster, but way too short - I want more :-)
Thanks
Neat intro to FireBug.
Open source software doesn't really get marketed and something like this does a great job in attracting new users.
Nice intro. It makes me curious for more.
Thanks
Hi Jesse. I just wanted to say thanks to you for allowing us to host a copy of your video.
Kyran showed me Firebug in action yesterday as we pair-coded this new version of the site (I've just deployed it) - it was neat to see it working and it clearly made Kyran's life easier!
Cheers,
Ian.
