Very nice. Short and to the point.

Thanks for the video, gives the basic idea and it looks like thats what I was looking for. We want to build a simple gesture control with a webcam, and were not sure how to handle Windows without much hassle.

Hi,

Very interesting. Can you make this application show results? Like check that form is not displayed any mor eor text is present?

Thanks,

Great demo. Short and sweet.

One comment - it would be nice to know how to figure out the names of the objects to invoke?

30. anonymous Wed, 16 Sep 2009 12:51

This was invaluable for deciding that pywinauto was the tool to use for automating processing of a small Windows app.

Great intro.

nice tutorial this is more explanatory to me but i wander if u want to check the status of the application suppose u want to know the download manager percentage and other so that you can take necessary action how is that possible.

is there any way to do that or you may please suggest any other application that can do this job.

26. anonymous Tue, 11 Aug 2009 22:41

I liked the tutorial, but wished it went further, with more detail and showed a more in depth python script controlling an application. Actually, went through QAing an application

25. anonymous Sat, 08 Aug 2009 09:48

12. anonymous Wed, 01 Apr 2009 08:36

Nice little demo. What would be great is showing out how you figure out what the window names are. Is there a way to list them. Sometimes it's not so intuitive.

11. anonymous Wed, 25 Mar 2009 12:31

Good

10. anonymous Tue, 24 Mar 2009 21:48

Nice starting video. We need more.

9. anonymous Tue, 07 Oct 2008 13:19

Is there a list of objects that are available? Please do that in a video.

8. anonymous Sun, 13 Jan 2008 18:11

Thank you. Great video. I had been stumped on how to manipulate windows objects, you video has given me new hope!

7. anonymous Fri, 17 Aug 2007 12:30

Hi,

the command for showing controls is app.Window.print_control_identifiers() . Java applets, applications that bring their own windowhandling (like opera, or some swing applications) can not be scripted with pywinauto.

The video tutorial is nice. Combination with pyunit would be great.

6. anonymous Fri, 27 Jul 2007 10:18

Very good tutorial . Could you add a command which will show all the controls in the application.

Also will it support controls running inside Java applets ?

5. anonymous Tue, 24 Jul 2007 02:31

This is a very useful video to start using pywinauto and would help in automating a lot of regular windows jobs

4. anonymous Fri, 29 Jun 2007 15:35

Thank you. Excellent!

i didn't know pywinauto and it's incredible how easy it is!

good work!

thanks

Good to know and very good quality of audio and video! This is the sort of screencast i like:

<ul> <li>short</li> <li>effective</li> <li>good audio and video</li> </ul>

Please continue to build other casts on Python!

Very good demo. I've heard about pyWinAuto for a long time but didn't try it before. Now I will try it.
