Hey this little video is still being helpful to the folks!
I just used it today to setup eclipse for python on my mac after a night of !@#@.
thanks a lot, very well explained and useful !!
hi im using Eclipse 3.5.1 but i cant find the option find and install :S where is it
Excellent tutorial! Went through the basics, just need an update, but fantastic work!
Thanks!! That was very helpful.
I'm using Eclipse platform 3.5.1 on OS X 10.5.8, a few commands have changed but this tutorial was very helpful... Great job.
Thank you!
thank you!
Thanks a lot!
I am new to Python, programming...everything it seems and your video greatly aided me in overcoming this very steep learning curve to get started!
Great job with the video!
Thanks for the quick overview of setting up PyDev on the Mac.
Very nice and it did allow me to start quickly firing python code.
Thank you very much
clean and concise. Good job. You might mention where one should go from here. How do I make applications that DON't run in just the Eclipse console? Can apps be created to run from the Mac's menu bar? Is a browser required? etc...
Hey it was a nice and easy video. One tip, fast forward anything that has loading on it. Unless I realllly needed to setup eclipse, I probably would have bolted from the video mid-loading screen.
Any tips on how to make eclipse/pydev Google App Engine smart?
Thanks!!!
Very helpful in getting setup with a python debugging environment!
Great Intro thx!
go!

I am a Mac / Python enthusiast, trying to learn Python for use in Maya (in the graphics industry). I went through the Eclipse 3.4.1 install, but not all screens appear as they do in your tutorial which is expected. You may find me on your forum, once I find it, asking questions soon. Please, more Python tuts for Mac newbies!

Thanks brother! Your tutorial got me up and running perfectly. Exactly what I needed. I'd never used either Eclipse or Python before today and was able to get both installs working and running "hello world".
Good getting started tutorial.
Should have continued to include debugging (setting breakpoints and single stepping) or included a link to a debugging video.
Eclipse looks powerful and I'm excited about trying it out with Python. But the learning curve looks steep. Thanks for making it a little shallower.
Excellent.
Useful.
Very helpful for a newbie to Python.. And I happen to be new to Mac OS X too. (Been a long time user of Windows).
Thank you
Thanks for the vid, Rob! I'm a newb running MacPython to create my first prototype and have had some issues with the regular IDLE and Editra environs. So its great to find freeware that has similar functionality to commercial products. I look forward to more.
Hey, thanks!
Good video, only tip, a little to quick in some areas, had to stop and rewind a little. Factor in some pauses to allow for catch-up.
I would like to see more of anything regarding the macintosh.
It is really very nice from you to take the time to record this useful video. Thanks a lot!
Jorge
Covers installation of eclipse and pydev on MacOS X.
Shows the creation of a simple project with a Hello world script.
Thanks for the demo!!!
Hi Robert, thanks for this couple of minutes that saved me hours of try`n`tests ;).
Good luck and keep up good work!
So helpful! This is exactly what I needed. Thanks.
Thanks for the video, I will give it a try.
Good video helped me install pydev on a PC too, never mind my Mac. Good work. Alan G.
Very helpful. It is too bad I didn't see this video after my 30 minutes trying to install Pydev on my own.
Definitely a helpful video to get me up and running with Pydev loaded into Eclipse. I was actually using a windows platform. Things aren't exactly the same but they are close enough to help out people on all platforms. Thank you for your effort!
Nice Video ;-)
Just as a note... to run it, you can just press F9 instead of going to the run menu (and you can re-run the last run with Ctrl+F11)
Thanks, this got me up and going in about 5 minutes. Before this I didn't know about pyDev. Excellent!
Lucas,
