Thank you very much for these tutorials. I am a complete noob so these are very handy.
Again, thank you for taking the time to make these, it's very much appreciated.
Graeme 5 days agoThese introductory videos are a huge help to a beginner! One tiny niggle - could you make your bigger mouse movements slower; you know where you're going but by the time my eyes have caught up with the cursor, not to mention the slippy bits as well, I don't have enough time for the grey matter to read what you're pointing at before you've moved on.
Adrian Brain 5 days agoWell done! Thank you! Nice for this newbie to have a guide. Kind of bewildering otherwise!
Todd Land 11 days agoHallo waar en hoe kan ik het programma downloaden voor mijn mobile telefoon

Alex Stirbu 12 days agoThanks for your work (and sorry for my English) as for the previous
video.
keep up that good work!
Kim Allamandola 17 days agoThanks for the video: I'm a new OSM user (thanks my new Android phone)
and I would like to contribute something as I can. So thanks to your
videos I start to use JOSM (I'm on OpenSolaris, JOSM is the most
comfortable OSM editor I found, Merkaator is a bit annoying to compile)
Keep up that good work! (and sorry for my English...)
Kim Allamandola 17 days agoThank you for providing some much needed learning material for JOSM. You went through it a little quickly for me as I am such a newbie when it comes to mapping. Could you slow it down a little bit for those of us new to mapping?
Mike S. 26 days agoJust working my way through your videos to get see how people covert their traces into useful information. Many thanks!
Tony McGurk 27 days agoThanks for your movies. Just getting to know OSM and getting more secure with your help!

James Edezhath 33 days agoThis was my first stab at an introduction. Seemed rather quick but I am going to look at the other material as well and maybe it will make better sense. Overall--great video.

anonymous 48 days agoVery nice introduction. It would be nice to add an explanation on how to save/upload to OSM.
anonymous 51 days agoExcelent introduction. A lot of it, so I will need to pop back now and again. Thanks
anonymous 54 days agoI am going to use this to map out a battlefield for airsoft in Virginia, USA and I wanted to know how you would recommend I go about doing this. I am supposed to create a raster map and then upload it to a java application that will go onto web and gps enabled phones for a realtime battle network. What is the cheapest way to go about doing this since I do not have a gps unit of my own.
anonymous 56 days agoVery helpful thanks
anonymous 58 days agoUseful thanks
anonymous 58 days agointeresting video, ? are there more details of how to record/upload around whole parts of were i live not on map , I am thinking of contributing but it may take some time
anonymous 2 months agoBit advanced for a beginner but will be extremely useful when up to speed a bit more. Might want to break it down into shorter segments, otherwise just fine.
anonymous 2 months agogood josm overview.
anonymous 2 months agoVery nice introduction(s). I'd like to see some more, if you have ideas and time. Thank you so far, however!
anonymous 2 months agoVery informative. Saw some things that I would not normally investigate.
anonymous 2 months agoInformative intro video - thanks!
One question I'm left with is if there's any small way to make incremental contributions - like identifying street numbers with particular points on a road. (My comparison for Wikipedia is that I go in & edit the syntax & grammar of some existing pages, as I read them - a small contribution I can make just along the way.)
anonymous 2 months agoThank you for the video overview. Nice to get an idea of what's going on.
anonymous 2 months agoThanks for the intro. Didn't realise editing OSM was so straightforward.
anonymous 2 months agoThanks for this. Was very informative for a true beginner like me. This was my first visit to OpenStreetMap. Sounds interesting - your information is very useful.
anonymous 3 months agoReally good intro to the world of mapping. Well Done!
anonymous 3 months agoGreat stuff, really informative and easy to follow. I just found out about the application and want to use it as soon as I can and your tutorials have been a great help in clarifying matters.
Thanks for sharing. I also like the fact that you are using a mac, and I am going to look for the app "Ishowu).
Cheers and keep up the good work.

anonymous 4 months agogood overview, easy to follow, not too many details - great tutorial, thank you
anonymous 4 months agoExcellent! I'd like some discussion on the make-up of ways traces etc. When to join 2 roads, when to keep separate; what to do with a fork etc. Are ways, junctions, land use areas effectively different geometrically or the same.
anonymous 5 months agoVery useful - much quicker way to get started than reading the manual..
anonymous 5 months agoGreat intro. I would like a similar talk on rastering and tiles etc.
anonymous 5 months agoJust viewd the

seven videos, missed out the chance to comment at the end of each, so overall -- they are brilliant, interesting and informative, a very nice chatty style and a revelation into how it's done, very useful to this novice,
Enormous thanks for the time and effort you put into this.
anonymous 5 months agoNice video. It would be nice if one could see the result of that tagging...
anonymous 5 months agoV useful as a starting point. Gives the user confidence to go in and make changes. Thanks

anonymous 5 months agoVery helpful video that shows both the tricks and the foibles of the Potlatch editing process. As a beginner, I will feel a lot better about using it now that I have seen that even the video creator has occasional glitches. Thanks very much.
